VFI Install #0003 Paul Schantz

Yesterday we installed flagpole 3 (SEI region pole 2) at the home of Paul Schantz, a 65 year old Vietnam veteran. Paul served in Vietnam and was also stationed in Germany for a period time during the construction of the bridge over the River Rhein. Paul shared stories of his service and pictures. He told us of his grandfather who was killed in WWI and going to visit his gravesite in France at Oise-Aisne American Cemetery.

Paul’s works at the quarry near Center Point and is a member of the Center Point Legion. His son who works for Linn County also joined us for the install and was our photographer. Paul and his family were very welcoming and Casey’s donuts seem to be the trend at these installs so be ready boys!
